Daily Devotional- Learn to Forgive

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” – Matthew 6:14-15

Forgiveness is tough. We can be hurt by people close to us and it can be hard to forgive them. However, we need to let go of that burden because we are the ones carrying it and not the person who hurt us. We must also learn to forgive ourselves for past mistakes we have made. When we do this we are better able to walk more in Christ’s imagine and represent Him.

Daily Devotional- The Right View of the Father

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” – John 1:17-18

“So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” – John 5:19

What shaped your view of God? Was it religion, culture or your person relationship with your earthly father. Many of us have a Jaded view of who God is because of these influences. So how do we get the correct view of God? We get that through Jesus.

When we see God through the eyes of Jesus it is able to restore our view of our heavenly Father. In the Gospels we see the love and appreciate Jesus has for His father and how loved He is by the Father.

Daily Devotional- Who the Real You Is

Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.” – Romans‬ ‭12:3‬ ‭

Who are you? It’s a complicated question, isn’t it? On one hand, your self-concept is rooted in your family background, your personality, the belief systems you’ve been taught, and the key people in your life. On the other hand, you may not be who you think you are.  God is the author of your true identity. He knows exactly how He designed you. He knows the gifts He’s given you to fulfill the purposes He’s called you to.

When you learn God’s view of you—who you really are—everything begins to change, and living a life of true spirituality becomes possible. As you let God transform your mind, the worldly script that runs through your mind changes. That means your feelings of unworthiness or of pride, the way you relate to others, your thought life, your dreams and goals, they all change too.

Daily Devotional- Facing the Opposition

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” – Ephesians‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭

There comes a time in our journey of walking in our assignment when we have to make a decision. We have to decide if the opposition is going to be an opportunity or an excuse. The mere presence of opposition against your assignment is an indication that you are moving in the right direction. The root word of “opposition” is “opposite,” and if you are moving forward, opposition is trying to pull you backward.

If you are experiencing opposition in the rebuilding, then you are not alone.  When we have been called to build and rebuild, there will be opposition to the process. If we fix our attention on the opposition, then we will miss the opportunity.

We don’t always want to find out how strong we are. Many times we would rather just know that we have untapped strength and not actually have to use it. That is fair, but when it comes to our assignments, they have to be guarded. That will require boldness and strength.

What does it look like for opposition to become opportunity in your current season of life?

Daily Devotional- Obedience in Decision Making

“The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. For the honor of your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins. Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose.” – Psalms‬ ‭25:10-12‬

We must remain in obedience while making decisions. Our past mistakes and wrongdoings often prevent us from approaching God freely for help. But like David, we can choose to run to God. His calamity was too intense to miss the moment to beseech God’s help. We can have the assurance David had that God would forgive his wrongs and show him the right path.

Take a few minutes to confess your wrongs and ask God to forgive you. Renew your commitment to faithfully follow God’s instructions. Then tell yourself that God will guide those who honor him.

Daily Devotional- Take Delight in the Lord

“Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” – Psalms 37:1-7

We should always take delight in the Lord. We may question sometimes seeing wicked people prosper and we haven’t seen what God has for us pass. However, if we continue to seek the Lord and do what He wants us to do, we will see it and bless us.

Daily Devotional- The Importance of Relationships

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” – Revelation 3:20

We can’t put enough emphasis on the importance of relationships. We must always sow into people and show them we care even in seasons we aren’t as active in each other’s lives. Also, we should always keep an open door to allow people to come back into our life and make them feel welcomed.

Daily Devotional- True Spirituality

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect..” – Romans 12:1-2

What is True Spirituality you might be asking yourself? A lot of people try to define a different way but the answer is: an intimate relationship with God. A lot of us who grew up in church were taught about God and who He is but not how to know Him intimately. God invites us into relationship with Him and when we do this we get to know him better and how He wants to us to further the Kingdom while on earth.

Daily Devotional- Focusing on What is Important

“Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory..” – Colossians 3:2-4

With so many things going on in our world my question is: are we focusing on what is important? I saw an Instagram post today that inspired me today to make this video. I thing I feel Holy Spirit has been communicating to me is focusing sharing Jesus with people and being the best ambassador i can for Him. Keeping my eyes on Him and how to bring what is in the Kingdom down here on earth and not being overly focused on the events in the world.

Daily Devotional- There Is No Blueprint

“Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.” – Proverbs 4:7

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” – Psalms 139:13-14

So many times we look for a blueprint or formula of how to accomplish things in our life. Here is a little secret though: there is no blueprint or secret. God wants to provide in a unique for our situation. While it is good to hear other testimonies of how God came through for others, we should focus more on what He has to say for our specific situation.
