Daily Devotional- Hearing God’s Voice
““My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” – John 10:27
Jesus says that His sheep hear His voice. His voice isn’t something distant, or an obscure frequency that we have to tune in to. Jesus desires to speak to each one of us because we were created to have fellowship with God.
Jesus also says that He knows us. This is a call to a personal relationship with the Good Shepherd who longs to communicate with us and have a relationship with us! He knows us by name, and has a good plan for every person. There is so much security in knowing that the Good Shepherd is not just interested in what we do but in who we are! He knows our likes and our dislikes and He understands exactly how to speak to us and guide us because He knows us. And because He knows us, we can trust what He is calling us to do.
Jesus says that His sheep follow Him. When the shepherd calls for his sheep, he is not wondering if his sheep will follow. He expects them to follow, because to do otherwise would be dangerous for the sheep!
What is He saying to you? Make a decision today to follow Him, because that leads you into the place of safety and blessing.
