Daily Devotional- Be The Head And Not The Tail

“If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. You must not turn away from any of the commands I am giving you today, nor follow after other gods and worship them.” – Deuteronomy 28:13

When it comes to be leaders following after God we must be the head of everything, not the tail. To. many times we have as believers let the world show us how to do things instead of God. We must fall behind and let the world’s way of doing things override what the Father wants us to do. We must get back to leaning into what Holy Spirit has to say and follow what He wants us do in retreads to leadership where we are planted.

Daily Devotional- I Am a Child of God

“But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12

We are God’s kids and nothing can change that. His love for us and commitment to us is steadfast even if we sin catastrophically. Because of Jesus, God’s vast love covers us every single day.

So, whenever we face situations where we feel utterly defeated, we must remember that we are chosen, children of God. Whenever we feel like no one loves us and feel completely alone, we must remember that we are chosen, children of God. Whenever we feel neglected and overlooked, we must remember that we are chosen, children of God. The Creator of the universe, the Great I Am, the Almighty God chose you. You are a child of God!

Daily Devotional- Characteristics of Jesus Mission

“Look at my Servant, whom I have chosen. He is my Beloved, who pleases me. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not fight or shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally he will cause justice to be victorious. And his name will be the hope of all the world.” – Matthew 12:18-21

Jesus did many things in His time on earth and in this video Tim dives into certain characteristics of His mission and what He was here to accomplish.

Daily Devotional- The Foundation of Friendship

“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Sometimes it may seem easier to get things done when you work alone. But God’s Word is clear that two are better than one. Most of us enjoy spending time with friends. But if you are struggling with something, do you ever hesitate to ask for help? Maybe it is pride that keeps us from wanting to ask for help from a friend. But true friends are gifts from God. When we rely on Him to lead us in our friendships, we often experience the caring relationships we truly desire.

Even the friends God brings into our lives will disappoint and hurt us. However, there is a Friend who will never leave you or forsake you. He is with you always. He laid down His life for you! His friendship can change your life for eternity!

Think of a friend who supports your pursuit of the Lord. In what ways could that friend help you? Think of ways that you could help that friend grow closer to God. Pray that Jesus, a true Friend, whose love is beyond compare, will bring the warmth of His friendship to you and your relationships in a very real and lasting way. Thank God for friends!

Daily Devotional- The Need to Withdraw

“But despite Jesus’ instructions, the report of his power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases. But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.” – Luke 5:15-16

Being busy has become a badge of honor in western society. We always talk about how busy we are and feel guilty when we don’t do any work. We need to withdraw more and realize that not everything we do is necessary and needs to be done right away. We must learn to get away like Jesus did and come back to our work more refreshed and better able to carry out the work the Father wants us to do.

Daily Devotional- Why Does God Allow Bad Things to Happen

“And we know that God causes everything to work together[a] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” – Romans 8:28

Why does God allow Bad things to happen?

That may be a question that you have received as a believer from someone who isn’t a believer. It can be a tough question to answer but what I just learned recently is that nothing bad ever comes from God. It usually is an attack from Satan or the repercussions of the fall of humanity. However, God can bring restoration to bad situations and we can use that as testimonies for His goodness.

Daily Devotional- Overcoming Insecurities

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” – Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬

At times it can be overwhelming when you are pursuing God’s plan for your life. When God reveals His plan to you, it is usually beyond your current skill set or ability. It can also be beyond your level of education and outside of your financial budget. It will stretch you and challenge you to come out of your comfort zone and start becoming the person He desires for you to be. Sometimes this can leave us in a state of insecurity, as we will have a tendency to feel small compared to the BIG plan that God has shown us.

Yes, it can seem overwhelming at times, but you must understand and know that it’s not impossible. The key to overcoming your insecurities is to start trusting in God’s ability and not your feelings.

Remember that nothing great or extraordinary happens in your comfort zone. This means that you will have to break out of any insecurity mind-sets that you may have and start seeing yourself as God sees you. God sees you and a victor. He sees you as an overcomer. He sees you as a mighty person who is going to accomplish great things in life.

Daily Devotional- Grateful for Friendships

“We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly.” – 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭

“I always thank my God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you, now that you belong to Christ Jesus.” – 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:4‬

We are surrounded by people—in our families, communities, and churches. However, we may not always stop to think about how important these people are to us and to God. It can be easy to live each day without stopping to be grateful for the people God has so carefully placed in our lives. As the apostle Paul reminds us, it is important to give thanks for and to these friends.

Take a moment to reflect on the friends you are grateful for. Thank God for blessing you with these people! Then, think of a specific person you are grateful for and a reason you are grateful for him or her. Perhaps this person is always there to comfort you when you feel alone or afraid. Perhaps this person has helped you to see a problem from a different perspective. Take time to ask God to bless this person, and thank Him for this valued friendship. Take time to show your gratitude to this person as well. When you do these things, your relationships will grow.

Daily Devotional- Staying Sharp in These Aspects

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. – Romans 12:1

We are called to serve God in many ways and must stay sharp in these aspects: Spiritual, Mental, and Physical. It is easy for us to get complacent in these areas but we must continue to sharpen them and allow God to use us in all areas to expand His Kingdom.
